Meet Reverend Chauncey Blige

Our Pastor

Rev. Chauncey Blige is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He is the son of Mr. David Blige and Ms. Chantay Taylor. Rev. Blige is married to Mrs. Reynarda Blige and they have a blended family of 4 children. Rev. Blige is also the proud grandfather of K’ior.

 

On February 27, 2011, Reverend Blige received his licensed to preach the gospel by his former pastor, the late Rev. Dr. Wilson Scott from his home church, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. In 2015, he accepted the position as a youth pastor at New Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church, where God allowed the Holy Spirit to utilize him as a divine instrument to win souls for Jesus Christ. Which led to him being fully ordained by his mentor Bishop Norris Darden of New Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church in January of 2020. Currently, Pastor Blige has been called to lead the flock at Second African Baptist Church as the 23rd pastor of the historic site. 

Rev. Blige has a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Shaw University, a Master’s of Art’s Degree in Business and Organizational Security from Webster University, and a Master’s of Ministry Degree in Biblical Studies from the New Generation Full Gospel Biblical Institute.
